Mr & Mrs Bonnet – Bowood Hotel

Nearly four years ago I met Laura. Laura was a bridesmaid at her sister Kirsty’s wedding, which I was photographing and I remember clearly her telling me how she moved on her own to live in France to continue her dancing dreams.

When a message landed in my inbox from Laura telling me she was getting married to her French beau, my heart did a little leap – I was so excited to be part of such a special day.

Last September, I arrived at the stunning Bowood Hotel and was greeted by the loveliest ‘Bridal Squad’. In their gorgeous matching pjs, the girls rallied around Laura, helping her to get ready. The room was buzzing with excitement and it was obvious how much these girls meant to Laura.

It was soon time to sneak away to photograph Yohan and his groomsmen getting ready at the other end of the hotel. It was so much fun capturing their final toast before making their way to the ceremony room.

Surrounded by their two families Laura and Yohan didn’t leave a dry eye in the house as they made their vows in both English and French, such a special touch that proved how made for each other they are, despite different cultures.

We also had a day of rainy showers, but both Laura and Yohan were absolute superstars and were happy to run outside for photographs, despite the puddles! They say its good luck if it rains on your wedding day!
