Sophie & Louis - A beautiful Church Wedding in May 2021

May 8th marked my very first wedding of the year, and what an incredible one to start with.

Sophie and Louis were yet another couple who were faced with the difficult decision to postpone their 2020 wedding.

I remember meeting in a lovely cafe at the beginning of 2020, before all of the events to come, discussing their wedding plans without a care in the world - leaving with a hug and saying ‘I’ll see you next month’.

After changing their date, they were faced with more obstacles when their chosen Wedding Venue closed and restrictions meant that their new date of May 2021 would only allow 15 guests.

However, despite all of this, I can honestly say that Sophie and Louis pulled of the most beautiful and intimate wedding.

Even though they were surrounded by just 13 family members and close friends, the room was filled to the brim with so much love, happiness and laughter.

Arriving in the morning, I was a bundle of excitement, it had felt like a very long five months and to be back photographing was the best feeling.

Sophie greeted me with the biggest smile and her joy was infectious. Time flew by and it was soon time to meet Louis at the beautiful St Lawrence Church in Downton.

Louis was ready and waiting and it was obvious how excited he was too. It wasn’t long before Sophie arrived and accompanied by twin Sister Kerry, they walked down the aisle to finally have the moment they have planned and dreamt of for such a long time.

This gorgeous couple were absolute troopers and despite the wind and rain, braved the chill for some photographs by the blossom and with the pretty church as their backdrop.

Soon it was onto their afternoon celebrations with speeches that did not leave a dry eye in the house.

I could talk about this gorgeous day for hours and hours, but I know you’re here to see the photos, so I’ll leave you to enjoy...
